Origins 

The Husky Running Festival, launched in 2011, has evolved into one of Australia’s largest coastal running events, originally starting in 1999 and now held annually in Huskisson, NSW.

Rapid Expansion

From its early days, the Husky Running Festival has grown into a notable event on Australia’s running calendar. By 2024, the festival saw participation from more than 5,500 runners—the largest turnout to date, indicating robust growth every year

Participation and Events

Events

Originally featuring primarily distance runs, the festival now includes various events catering to all levels of runners. This includes marathons, half marathons, 10km, 5km, and 2.5km races, ensuring family-friendly participation alongside competitive options.

Participation

The event’s are family-friendly with participation from all age groups, featuring fun runs, marathons, and in previous years, even twilight runs.

Why Huskisson

Tucked along the stunning coastline of New South Wales, Jervis Bay is a slice of paradise that feels like it was plucked straight from a postcard. Famed for having some of the whitest sands in the world, its beaches like Hyams Beach and Greenfield Beach boast powdery-soft shores and crystal-clear turquoise waters. the beautiful environment is one of the great draws of this event lending to the excellent race turn outs as it pulls in not just runners but friends and families too.
